Types of Lubes

Let’s face it there may be some lubes also called lubricants that have been made to be used for different things, outside of just keeping friction from happening. There are 3 main types which are silicone, water and oil-based lube. These categories are then split into various types such as scented, warming, and even flavored.

Types of Lubes

Water based lube

Water based lube is all about providing just standard lubrication and it helps if you deal with a lot of dryness in that area. This type is often used all the time because they can be used with sex toys, condoms, latex, sponges, diaphragms, and they are great for sensitive skin as well. Not to mention they come in flavored, edible, stimulating and much more.

Oil based lubes

Oil lubes will tend to last for a long time, but they can be a bit restrictive. They often contain various substances like Vitamin E, petroleum, and other oils that hardly dry up. Even though they are great for external massage and masturbation, they aren’t great for internal usages because they cannot be used with any rubber or latex products and they are harder to clean up. Then there is a chance that it could cause an infection as well.

Silicone lube

Silicone lubes are kind of the middle ground for lubricants. They are similar to oil lubes but without all the risk. However, this type of lube can’t be used with silicone or rubber products, which means that you cannot use it with toys, and it can be way more expensive than you are looking to spend. Yet, it does work well with condoms.

These types of lubes are quite common and will often give you what you need, just be sure what you plan to use them for and go from there as you don’t want to end up with infections.
